Meses após anunciar seu livro de composições, Paul McCartney revelou todas as 154 canções que estarão em The Lyrics: 1956 to the Present. O livro chega no dia 2 de novembro.
O maior destaque da lista, que os maiores fãs do cara certamente devem conhecer quase inteira, é uma faixa inédita dos Beatles chamada “Tell Me Who He Is”. A letra da música nunca gravada foi encontrada em um caderno do início dos anos 60 e será disponibilizada pela primeira vez.
Além desta raridade, o livro ainda tem todas as outras composições da banda assinadas por McCartney, bem como letras de sua carreira solo. Cada uma delas traz comentários de Paul sobre seu processo criativo. Incrível, hein?
Em comunicado (via CoS), ele disse:
Mais frequentemente do que consigo contar, me perguntam se eu escreveria uma autobiografia, mas a hora nunca chegou. A única coisa que sempre consegui fazer, seja em casa ou na estrada, é escrever novas músicas.
Sei que algumas pessoas, quando atingem uma certa idade, gostam de ler um diário para relembrar acontecimentos do dia-a-dia do passado, mas eu não tenho nada assim. O que eu tenho são minhas canções, centenas delas, que aprendi que servem praticamente ao mesmo propósito. E essas músicas abrangem minha vida inteira.
