Entre 1994 e 2001, o Green Day gravou diversas faixas ao vivo para a BBC e estas gravações foram reunidas pelo grupo para compor um novo álbum (via Loudersound).
Intitulado The BBC Sessions, o registro será lançado em 10 de Dezembro e a banda liberou não somente a tracklist do compilado mas também a versão feita em 1994 de “2000 Light Years Away”, canção que originalmente integrou o disco Kerplunk (1991).
Ao total, são 16 músicas gravadas no estúdio Maida Vale, em Londres, em diferentes épocas e que nunca haviam sido disponibilizadas.
Green Day divulgará uma faixa de The BBC Sessions por semana
Conforme o Green Day revelou no Twitter, a cada semana será divulgada uma nova faixa do álbum ao vivo que, além das plataformas digitais, chegará em CD e LP duplo.
Em turnê pelos Estados Unidos com a Hella Mega Tour, a banda seguirá para a Europa em 2022 para uma série de apresentações. O primeiro show no continente acontecerá em 29 de Maio, em Moscou, na Rússia.
