Ao som de Eddie Vedder, Chicago Cubs celebra primeiro título em 108 anos

Chicago está em festa.

Ontem à noite (e durante boa parte da madrugada) aconteceu o último jogo da World Series, a final do baseball nos Estados Unidos, e o jogo foi espetacular.

O Chicago Cubs não ganhava um título há 108 anos, e seu adversário, o Cleveland Indians, tinha uma seca um pouco menor, mas tão incômoda quanto: 68 anos.

A partida aconteceu em Cleveland e com a série empatada em 3 a 3, quem ganhasse o jogo sairia do estádio dos Indians com o título, e teve de tudo na final.

Após o Chicago abrir uma vantagem de 5 a 1 no placar, que acabou se tornando um 6 a 4 perto do final do jogo, o Cleveland Indians empatou, o jogo foi para entradas extras, a chuva interrompeu os trabalhos por 20 minutos e a emoção só acabou por volta das 3 da manhã no horário de Brasília.

Com uma performance matadora após a volta da chuva, os Cubs marcaram duas corridas e sofreram apenas uma, vencendo ao final por 8 a 7.

Vários fãs ilustres do Chicago Cubs estavam no estádio, como o ator Bill Murray e o músico Eddie Vedder, que agora se tornou trilha sonora de um vídeo especial que resume a noite de ontem e o título histórico do Chicago Cubs.

O vídeo que pode ser visto logo abaixo é embalado por “All The Way”, música escrita pelo vocalista do Pearl Jam para celebrar o time que ele acompanha durante toda a vida e que, obviamente, nunca tinha visto ganhar um título.
