Todo ano, o Grammy realiza uma premiação de MusiCares Person of the Year, onde homenageiam músicos incríveis não somente por suas carreiras, mas também por seus trabalhos filantrópicos.

No passado, músicos como Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan, Aretha Franklin e Stevie Wonder já receberam o prêmio, e esse ano foi a vez do músico Tom Petty ser honrado.

Na cerimônia, realizada em Los Angeles, vários músicos se reuniram para realizar um show em homenagem ao músico, tocando vários sucessos de sua carreira. Dentre os artistas e bandas que compareceram estavam Foo Fighters, Stevie Nicks, Norah Jones, Cage the Elephant, Lucinda Williams, Regina Spektor e muitos outros.
